Matchday XI — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Matchday XI ("the Service," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Matchday XI is a free-to-play football prediction platform. Users select a favorite Premier League club and predict that club's starting lineup before official confirmation, earning points based on accuracy. The Service includes global and per-club leaderboards, streak tracking, and free-tier private competitions. Some features referenced within the Service may be marked "Coming Soon" and are not yet active — their eventual availability, terms, and any associated fees will be governed by updated versions of these Terms before launch.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards, prizes, or private competitions is prohibited and may result in disqualification from prizes and/or account termination.
  • Once you submit your first prediction, your selected favorite team is permanently locked to that account.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to manipulate scoring, leaderboards, or prize eligibility through any means, including exploiting bugs or creating duplicate accounts.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation, including its automated scoring and data systems.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any club, organization, or individual.

6. Predictions, Scoring & Leaderboards

  • Scoring is based on official lineup data confirmed at or near kickoff, sourced from third-party sports data providers.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party lineup data, and are not liable for scoring discrepancies arising from errors or delays in that data.
  • Leaderboard standings, streaks, and prize eligibility are calculated automatically and are final, except in cases of demonstrated technical error, at our sole discretion.

7. Private Competitions

  • Users may create and join private competitions subject to the rules set by that competition's creator at the time of creation.
  • Private competition rules are immutable once set and are separate from global/per-club scoring.
  • We are not responsible for disputes between private competition creators and members regarding non-monetary matters (e.g. membership decisions).

8. Prizes

  • Prize eligibility, structure, and fulfillment are subject to separate prize-specific terms published at the time of each prize period.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any prize offering at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practicable.
  • Users disqualified for account violations (e.g. duplicate accounts) forfeit prize eligibility, though accumulated points may remain visible.

9. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Chinedu Onyia and protected by applicable intellectual property law.
  • Club names, crests, and player names are used for descriptive/informational purposes; Matchday XI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any football club, league, or player referenced within the Service.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chinedu Onyia shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
